Marie's Problem Solving Process Framework
My problem-solving framework for product design and management combines Design Thinking and Agile methodologies, focusing on aligning user needs with business goals. Empathy is at the core of how I define and solve problems, as I strive to deeply understand the userโ€™s perspective, their needs, and their pain points. This involves analyzing business KPIs, communicating with stakeholders, and leveraging CS team feedback and VOC resources to uncover the underlying โ€œwhyโ€ behind each problem.
During the discovery and problem-solving phases, I foster transparent collaboration with cross-functional teams to align on values and user needs while identifying technical and business constraints early. I prioritize problems by referring to product roadmaps, MVP definitions, and frameworks such as effort-impact and good-to-have vs. must-have to make effective trade-offs.
I rely on tools like Figma and FigJam for workshop facilitation, rapid prototyping, and wireframing, as well as A/B testing. For user validation, I use platforms such as Askable and UserTesting.com. Rapid prototyping helps me visually communicate ideas, while informal testing, user interviews, and workshops allow me to gather and incorporate feedback effectively. I manage projects in Jira, ensuring requirements are well-documented and updated for sprint execution. From ideation to post-launch, I stay deeply involved in the end-to-end process, maintaining a feedback loop to continuously optimize the user experience and address emerging needs.
By combining empathy-driven problem definition with data-driven decision-making, my framework ensures scalable solutions that deliver meaningful value to both users and the business.
